To succeed in an evolving medium like the Internet, where websites can gain favor or fade in a matter of moments, patience is more than a virtue, it's essential.

A former stockbroker, Ramon Toledo learned lessons quickly, including trusting his instincts. When it came time to launch his start-up online business, taking a risk came naturally.

Owner and founder of Busca Corp, which includes multiple Internet products like Levelup.com, the largest video gaming site in Latin America, he's poised to corner the U.S. Latino market with relevant information and portals.

''We will be the first Mexican Internet company to go public in the U.S. and the second from Baja to do it” he said.

He's already brought his business stateside by establishing offices in La Jolla, California and the Silicon Valley. But what makes him even more proud is the fact that the company remains partially based in Tijuana, or "TJ," his hometown.

"There's more to Tijuana than just drugs and killings,” he says. ''We found an amazing amount of talent and we've shown that businesses can thrive here.” Toledo, 39, the younger of two--his older brother, Rafael passed away 19 years ago - gained some of his business acumen from his parents, Rafael and Elsa.

His father owned a supermarket, where Toledo began working at the age of six, and his mother pursued real estate ventures, eventually expanding into commercial real estate.
